An inspiring story in this week’s Somerset Gazette detailing how Avalon School, a special school in Street, are nearing their £1.m target to build a much-needed hydrotherapy pool. This is a wonderful project which will help Avalon’s pupils, who have special needs and disabilities, and the wider community. Read in full about this wonderful client here and their very popular art exhibition.
It is lovely to see the school successfully combining major gift fundraising with community contributions, to generate over £800,000 of their target and make the most of everyone’s amazing effort. Avalon’s pupils have been enormously enterprising, selling their wonderful artwork, appearing on the radio and generally leading the way. They are a real inspiration to everyone aroung the appeal, and are learning at an important age how a community can come together and make a positive difference to people’s lives.
